He holds PhD-Animal Science from University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa; MPhil-Animal Nutrition, MSc (Distinction)-Animal Production, both from University of Wales, UK and BSc-Range Management from University of Nairobi. He headed key livestock programmes at Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) Centres before moving to Headquarters in Nairobi. For the last 10 years he has been the Editor in-Chief of East African Agricultural and Forestry Journal, and was formerly KARI Assistant Director for Technology Packing and Transfer. He has published widely and is a member of reputable professional societies including Animal Production Society of Kenya where he is a past Chairman and Secretary General. He currently chairs the National Farmer Registration Task Force; is a great team player and a mentor.
